Deconstructing Climate Change Denialism

Excellent post here on Skeptico unpacking in detail the kind of false arguments used by some to deny climate change. Really good analyses, very useful for all sorts of anti-scientific claims.

    Thanks Graham, that is a great link. After Bellamy on the Late Late show we need to understand the deniers tactics.

    Very good discussion of the deniers’ tactics. But I don’t know if it really captures the essence of their psychology.

    I think that the common element between climate change deniers, believers in wacky medicine and followers of “The Secret” (for example), is infantilism, the ability to sincerely believe whatever they want to. Denying obvious reality has become a characteristic of those in power; Bush and Blair being the gurus of this philosophy. Logical argument cannot defeat these people. I’m not sure what can.
