I feel there are more and more people ready to engage with this approach and I would like to help develop a network of individuals and groups in the West Cork area in order to share ideas and in supporting one another. Anyone interested could keep their eye out on www.sustainwestcork.com and look at the Community Solutions section where we soon hope to give focus to this. In the meantime, Sustain West Cork are putting on a Festival in Bantry on 24th-26th August, in order to raise awareness on Sustainability. There will be a facilitated opportunity here for individuals and groups to come together to share in what they are doing and ways to move forward. I have only just discovered the concept of Transion Towns and the problem of energy descent over the last month (a bit behind!). I am in the process of pulling local folk together to work though a programme and provide opportunity to share knowledge and ideas whilst encouraging effective action and explore personal responses to climate change.
